3rd Annual Race to GED Scholarship Golf Tournament Update

Great news for area golfers! The 3rd Annual Race to GED Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011, beginning at 1:00PM. We are thrilled to announce that this year’s tournament will be held at Goodyear Golf Club at 645 Jenny Lane in Danville, VA! All registered players will be able to play a practice round on the course earlier in the week for the nominal fee of $30 (must officially be registered in the tournament to play a practice round).
We are also excited to announce that GR Stanley Chevrolet of Bassett has agreed to sponsor the tournament again this year and that Pittylsvania County Schools Adult Education Program will also serve as tournament sponsor. GR Stanley is offering fabulous hole prizes including a 2011 Malibu for a hole in one on a hole to be announced.
First place winning team will receive $400 cash!!! (To be split 4 ways). Second and third place teams will also take home prizes. Other prizes are also available.
Entry fees are $50 per individual or $180 per foursome which includes one round of golf on tournament day, cart, light dinner following tournament, and snacks during play.
All proceeds go to pay for free GED testing for area adults. Sponsorships on several levels are also available to area businesses and residents who wish to help make our adults more employable.
